MAHALO FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Danielle Bass for State Senate District 18. Local Roots, Proven Leadership.

Aloha! I’m Danielle Marie Māliekekai Bass, born and raised in Mililani, proud to call Central Oʻahu home, and honored to represent you and our communities in the State Senate.

My ʻohana’s roots in Mililani and Waipiʻo Gentry span four generations of public servants, veterans, first responders, educators, and community leaders who helped build, lead, serve, and shape Central Oʻahu over generations, and showed me that we have a responsibility to show up, serve others, and strengthen these communities we call home.

For more than 21 years, I’ve dedicated my career to serving Hawaiʻi and Central Oʻahu across the legislative and executive branches of state government. I’ve worked to secure critical investments in our schools, roads, public safety, and infrastructure across Central Oʻahu, including the Kīpapa Gulch Bridge restoration, Kamehameha Highway resurfacing, construction of the Central Oʻahu Ambulance Facility, and school improvements across Mililani, Waipiʻo, and Waikele. As Hawaiʻi’s State Sustainability Coordinator, I founded and led the Statewide Sustainability Branch, connecting and advancing statewide efforts in
housing, infrastructure, energy, food security, land use, sustainability, and climate adaptation, and resilience to build a stronger future for Hawaiʻi.

Central Oʻahu is at the heart of why I serve. For 19 years on the Mililani-Waipiʻo-Melemanu Neighborhood Board, including five years as Chair, I brought residents, schools, first responders, businesses, and government agencies together to tackle community challenges, take action, and get results. Together, we fought for stronger police presence and enforcement, safer school crosswalks and sidewalks, park improvements, Pearl Highlands rail parking, renewable energy projects, stronger support for our schools and teachers, teacher workforce housing, and recovery efforts when disaster struck our neighboring communities.

As an experienced emergency manager and disaster responder, I’ve supported search-and-rescue missions, emergency operations, on-the-ground disaster response, and community recovery from hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, and Kona lows. Community leadership and service means showing up, being prepared, and getting to work when our communities need us most.

As your State Senator, I will continue to listen, show up, bring people together, and take action on the issues that matter to our communities. From lowering the cost of living and strengthening public safety to investing in our schools, infrastructure, housing, and resilience, I am ready to keep doing the work for Central Oʻahu. With your vote and support, we can build a brighter future for our ʻohana and keiki and keep Central Oʻahu a safe, strong community we’re proud to call home. Mahalo for the opportunity to serve you. Let’s get to work!
